Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-2295.3 as follows:

§15.2-2295.3. Electric vehicle charging stations.

Any locality may by ordinance require electric vehicle charging stations as part of subdivision or site plan approval for a development containing commercial, industrial, or multifamily residential uses with a density of seven residential dwelling units per acre or greater.

[ 2. That the provisions of this act shall become effective on July 1, 2024. ]
