85R3670 SMT-D     By: Watson S.B. No. 348       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the authority of the board of directors of an appraisal   district to acquire or convey real property or construct or   renovate a building or other improvement.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 6.051(c), Tax Code, is amended to read as   follows:          (c)  The board of directors may convey real property owned by   the district, and the proceeds shall be credited to each taxing unit   that participates in the district in proportion to the unit's   allocation of the appraisal district budget in the year in which the   transaction occurs. Any [A conveyance must be approved as provided   by Subsection (b) of this section, and any] proceeds shall be   apportioned by an amendment to the annual budget made as provided by   Section 6.06(c) [Subsection (c) of Section 6.06 of this code].          SECTION 2.  Sections 6.051(b) and (d), Tax Code, are   repealed.          SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives   a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as   provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this   Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this   Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
