89S20877 AMB-D By: Patterson H.R. No. 74 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Sadie Schiermeyer was crowned Miss Texas 2025 at the competition held at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts in Richardson on June 28, 2025; and WHEREAS, Ms. Schiermeyer represented Richardson in the statewide event, and as the daughter of Miss Texas 1994 Arian (Archer) Orlando, she is the first legacy titleholder in the program's history; she will represent the Lone Star State at the Miss America competition in September; and WHEREAS, As part of her participation in the pageant, Ms. Schiermeyer established the "Healthier Texas: How Are You, Really?" initiative, which aims to expand preventive health education that is accessible to children and families; to meet this objective, she works to equip individuals with practical tools for improving their mental, emotional, and physical well-being by conducting speaking engagements and wellness workshops for her F.U.E.L. for Life school program; in her role as Miss Texas, she continues to further her mission of empowering Texans to live healthier lives by traveling across the state to amplify conversations around holistic health and to advocate for policy changes; and WHEREAS, A native of Frisco, Ms. Schiermeyer graduated summa cum laude from Belmont University in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in strength and conditioning; she intends to pursue a master's degree in professional counseling from Dallas Baptist University following the conclusion of her tenure as Miss Texas, with the goal of eventually serving as a licensed therapist; and WHEREAS, Sadie Schiermeyer has proven herself to be a deserving recipient of the Miss Texas crown, and the hard work, determination, and perseverance that she has demonstrated in attaining this goal are certain to serve her well in her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Sadie Schiermeyer on her selection as Miss Texas 2025 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Schiermeyer as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
