88R12450 AMB-D     By: Jetton H.R. No. 253       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The Honorable Chad Bridges has ably served the   people of Fort Bend County for 20 years; and          WHEREAS, Chad Bridges began his career with Fort Bend County   in 2003, when he joined the district attorney's office; in 2015, he   was appointed as judge of the 240th District Court by Governor Greg   Abbott, and after his term ended in 2018, he became the chief   prosecutor of the county's Family Violence Division; he was   recently elected as judge of the 458th District Court in Fort Bend   County, and he was sworn into office on January 1, 2023; and          WHEREAS, Active in his professional community, Judge Bridges   served as the president and director of the county Crime Victim   Response Team (CVRT), and he also trains other judges for the Texas   Council on Family Violence; he has been a faculty advisor for the   Texas District and County Attorneys Association's Advanced Trial   Skills course, and in 2017, he was published in the Texas Center for   the Judiciary's In Chambers journal; he became board certified in   criminal law in 2020 and currently serves as an adjunct professor of   criminal justice at Houston Christian University; his honors   include the CVRT Carol Rees Award for outstanding service to crime   victims, and in January 2023, he received a 20-Year Service Award   from the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court in recognition of his   unwavering commitment to the county; and          WHEREAS, The dedication and integrity demonstrated by Chad   Bridges have greatly benefited area residents and earned him the   respect and admiration of his peers, and he may take justifiable   pride in his exemplary record of achievement; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas   Legislature hereby honor Chad Bridges for his 20 years of service to   Fort Bend County and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued   success; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Judge Bridges as an expression of high regard by the   Texas House of Representatives.
