88R24535 BEE-D     By: Hayes H.B. No. 2323     Substitute the following for H.B. No. 2323:     By:  Canales C.S.H.B. No. 2323       A BILL TO BE ENTITLED   AN ACT   relating to the issuance of general-issue license plates   commemorating the 100th anniversary of the writing of the state   song.          BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:          SECTION 1.  Section 504.005, Transportation Code, is amended   by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:          (e)  Notwithstanding Subsection (c), license plates issued   by the department during the five-year period beginning January 1,   2024, other than specialty license plates, must be designed to   commemorate the 100th anniversary of the writing of the state song,   "Texas, Our Texas," and must include the words "Texas, Our Texas"   and the dates "1924-2024."  The department shall deplete the   current inventory of general-issue license plates before issuing   license plates described by this subsection.  This subsection   expires January 1, 2030.          SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
