AN ACT

 

amending Title 16, chapter 6, article 1.2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-919; relating to campaign finance.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 16, chapter 6, article 1.2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-919, to read:

START_STATUTE16-919.  Ballot measure; nonresident expenditure and contribution prohibited

Notwithstanding any other law:

1.  A person who is not a resident may not make a ballot measure expenditure.

2.  A Committee that is organized for the purpose of influencing a ballot measure election may not accept a contribution from:

(a)  a person who is not a resident.

(b)  A committee that is not registered in this state.END_STATUTE
