AN ACT

 

amending Title 15, chapter 1, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-189; relating to charter schools.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section <![if !supportFields]>1.<![endif]>  Title 15, chapter 1, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-189, to read:

START_STATUTE15-189.  Charter schools; charter management organizations; contracts; definition

A.  A charter school or charter holder that contracts with a charter management organization shall submit the contract to the state board for charter schools for review.

B.  For the purposes of this section, charter management organization":

1.  Means an organization that contracts with a charter school or charter holder to provide academic and administrative services to one or more charter schools.

2.  Includes an organization commonly referred to as an educational management organization or an educational service provider. END_STATUTE
