By: Leo Wilson H.R. No. 8       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The annual Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3719   Charity BBQ Cook-Off is taking place in Crystal Beach on March 20   and 21, 2026; and          WHEREAS, Sanctioned by Champions Barbecue Alliance as one of   the organization's state championship cook-offs, this   much-anticipated event attracts talented chefs from across Texas   and beyond; these highly skilled pitmasters put their culinary   abilities to the test as they vie to produce the tastiest entries in   several different categories, including brisket, pork spareribs,   and chicken; and          WHEREAS, The contest's grand champion will receive an   invitation to the American Royal Barbeque Cook-Off as well as a   chance to compete at the Jack Daniel's World Championship   Invitational Barbecue competition; and          WHEREAS, The Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3719 is a   nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local schools,   volunteer fire departments, and various charities; and          WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the   Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3719 Charity BBQ Cook-Off is sure to   offer everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy good food and good   times while supporting a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2026   Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3719 Charity BBQ Cook-Off and extend   to the organizers, participants, and attendees sincere best wishes   for a fun and successful event.
