By: Leo Wilson H.R. No. 13       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The first annual Galveston Pickleball Championship   took place on July 26, 2025; and          WHEREAS, Organized by Trevor Gwynne, the tournament was held   at the McGuire-Dent Recreation Center, where 34 teams competed for   the championship title in single-elimination doubles rounds; the   winning squad received a trophy and new pickleball paddles while   earning considerable bragging rights; and          WHEREAS, In recent years, pickleball has grown into an   increasingly popular activity for individuals of all ages across   the Lone Star State, and the Galveston Pickleball Championship is   poised to become a beloved community tradition; now, therefore, be   it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commemorate the first   annual Galveston Pickleball Championship and extend sincere   appreciation to all those who helped bring the event to fruition.
